Robyn Fairlie MSc, BSc (Hons)
You love your dog and want the best for them—a happy, well-adjusted companion who thrives in your home and out in the world. But sometimes, challenges arise that leave you feeling stuck, frustrated, or unsure of what to do next. That’s where I come in.
With years spent rescuing and rehabilitating dogs, I’ve gained invaluable hands-on experience in understanding canine behaviour. Backed by an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training and a BSc in Psychology, I combine science with real-world experience to create tailored solutions that truly work.
As a Scentventure Guide at Club Dogwood, I also help owners of reactive and distracted dogs build confidence and connection with their canine companions. Whether your dog needs structured behaviour support, a confidence-boosting 1:1 walk, or anything in between, I’m here to help you navigate the journey.
Above all, I believe that a strong partnership with your dog is the key to success. My own springer spaniel, Angel, reminds me every day of the joy that comes from training, play, and exploration. I’d love to help you experience that same joy with your dog.
At the core of everything I do is…
-
Ethics
A compassionate, welfare-focused approach built on honesty, integrity,
and genuine care -
Enjoyment
Fostering positivity and confidence in the learning process to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.
-
Expertise
Professional services backed by qualifications and a thorough understanding of canine behavioural science.
Dedicated to kind, science-based, humane training
Knowing what methods your dog trainer is going to use with your dog is essential. I'm happy to say that I use methods which prioritise your dog's welfare.
My reward based methods are effective, based in science, and have the dog-human relationship in mind at all times. When using positive reinforcement, we will work together to find something which your dog enjoys, and finds rewarding - this is usually food! I do not endorse the use of any types of 'correction' based devices.
I will always be open and honest about the methods I use, and welcome discussion if you're not sure if we are going to be the best fit for you and your dog.
Ongoing Professional Development
The field of animal behaviour is constantly evolving. To provide the best possible care to your dogs, it's essential for professionals to continually expand their knowledge. As a provisional member of The Canine Behaviour and Training Society, I'm committed to this lifelong learning process, completing 30+ hours of CPD each year.
